Ingredients:
2 TBSP Oil
1 1/2 TBSP Dried Onions (or equivalent fresh, to taste)
1/8 tsp Rosemary
1/8 tsp Thyme
1/8 tsp Savory
1-2 TBSP Sugar
4 cups cooked beans (I used Great Northern)
1/3 cup water
2 TBSP Butter
2 TBSP Whole Wheat Flour
2 cups Milk
1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
1/8 tsp pepper (to taste)
1. Over medium heat, saute onions in oil. Add Rosemary, Savory and Thyme and saute for about one minute or until fragrant.
2. Add sugar, beans, and water.
3. In a separate saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add milk and flour and stir until thick. Add to beans.
4. Add salt and pepper and adjust seasonings as needed. Gently simmer for several minutes to blend flavors.
