1 (18 -19 oz) box German Chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
3 Tbsp. milk
1/2 c. mashed potato flakes
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. cinnamon, opt.
1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
Heat oven to 350 degrees, or 375 if your elevation is over 3500 ft. Combine mix, potatoes, cream of tartar, cinnamon, butter, milk, and egg. Mix well, then stir in nuts. Drop by spoonfuls into sugar; roll until coated. Put them 2” apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes, edges will be firm but centers won’t be. Cool 1-2 minutes, then remove and cool completely on cooling racks. Makes 4-5 dozen.
