2015 Bulk Food Storage Program

We have been counseled to build a 3-month supply of food that is part of our normal diet and to gradually build a longer-term supply of basic foods that will sustain life. The Bulk Food Storage Program is designed to help us economically and gradually acquire such food storage.  The goal of the program is, at the end of 12 months of participation, to have acquired a balanced 3-month supply of basic food storage items. As you continue in the program, you will layer another 3 months to increase your sustainability. 

Cooking classes will demonstrate how to prepare these food staples and encourage regular usage which will help you rotate your food storage supplies. You are encouraged to supplement your storage with other foods that are part of your normal diet and to add other non-canned items such as those described in the Power of Three program, including water, first aid, heat sources, etc.

During 2015, we have the opportunity of ordering bulk food each quarter, with purchased products picked-up the following month. Below is the schedule of products that will be made available during this year.  The products listed will be available to order on this website from the Saturday prior to the 2nd Sunday of each order month until the Monday morning following the 3rd Sunday. During that order window, the appropriate product(s) can be ordered by clicking on the name below.  Payment can be made using a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account. Anyone wishing to participate in the Bulk Food Program who does not have access to one of these payment methods is encouraged to team up with someone who does.

Ordered items will be picked up from the Fountain Valley Home Storage Center on the 1st Thursday of the following month and will be available for pick up from your Ward Emergency Preparedness Specialist.
